If you look at this thread in the Kindle Developer's Corner, you can see the requirements and the steps to do the jailbreak. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=312489

Essentially, if you upgrade your Kindle to anything *at all* other than the firmware it comes with, you can not jailbreak.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

However, if all you want to do is use your computer to add all of your books to collections, you can do that from your Manage My Kindle page on Amazon. Even if you didn't buy your books from Amazon, you can upload them to your Kindle cloud, either by using a program called Send to Kindle, or by emailing them. You can even use Calibre to email them for you. Just make sure to set the output format to Mobi(both) so that you can use the custom fonts and font enhancements on your Kindle.
