Comparing the two, it does seem like the weight has changed so its a bit lighter. Just guessing, but maybe from a plastic backed e-ink screen instead of glass?
Other than that, I see little reason to get this if you already have an Oasis or even a somewhat comparable e-reader that works. It just feels like Amazon is late to the color temperature lighting game and finally want to capitalize on it with their premium/large display device.
