The front bezel is sealed to the display with 4mm double stick tape.
Like most uses of this they are not insanely careful to make sure that the corners meet.
The gaps are up to 3mm (1/8") or so.

Somebody sink one of these in the bathtub and look for bubbles.
If it is like most of the current generation of waterproof ereaders, it's not the case seal that matters, it's a nano-coating on the electronics. The Kobo Aura One is an example of the use of this technology by HZO. HZO is also used by Tolino and Onyx.
