Calibre can't recognize Kindle Fire HD10

Hiya,
I was able to get the Kindle to work with Calibre upon installation. After downloading a plugin, the Kindle refused to connect to it. I uninstalled the plugin and the Kindle still can't connect and import the ebooks on the disk. The error I was given looks like this:
calibre, version 3.44.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

What appears to be the issue?
Thank you.
