I can't see anything wrong with that. Try doing a manual factory reset. See https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kob...Aura_Edition_2 for instructions.

Or maybe it is the Aura Edition 2, version 2? Externally, they are identical, but the CPU is different. If the 7th digit of the serial number is a 2 you have the second version, otherwise you have the first version.
