You can, indirectly.
Open "Reports", put its window to the right covering half the screen.
Double-click on the line in the table for the image.
-- you might expect that if anything opened, it would be the image's tab. But what does open is a HTML page with a link to that image highlighted.

On that link, r-click "Open tab for image".
Then in the tab, "R-click" to rename.

So, 3 clicks, but fairly quick. Also useful to see images in context before renaming.

Irfanview is a useful tool for this too: use it from an image tab to "open with" and then press "T" (Thumbnails) and it will show you all the images in the book (scanning the temp folder where they are extracted) with their names -- DO NOT use this to rename them, Sigil will not update its links. But you can have this window open while you are renaming in Sigil, refreshing (F5) to check progress when there are many images.
