Hi, I also have an old M96 with a broken screen. After contacting Onyx in China and reading posts on this forum and others, I decided to have a go at replacing the screen myself.

My M96 has a broken ED097TC1 (LF)-55 screen and I ordered a ED097TC1 (LF)-S1 screen from Shenfa Communication Equipment Co. on Ali Express. I've carefully replaced the screen and the M96 works again, opening .pdf and .doc files stored on it. However, the screen doesn't display properly, with parts of the image duplicated and 'rubbish' on other parts. Then I noticed that the label on the new screen says 'E307459', so I've contacted Shenfa to ask if this is a direct replacement for the ED097TC1 (LF)-S1.

I've also read on this forum that there can be an issue about the 'vcon' setting. The voltage label on the old screen is -1.46 and on the new screen is -1.21. I don't know if it's necessary to adjust the 'vcon' setting. If it is I don't know how to do this. It's mentioned on this forum in old posts, but the links on these posts are broken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
