Buying up dead malls is one solution. Adding B&M retail is another. Partnering with apartment complexes for lockers is another. Using local contractors for delivery yet another. They're doing a lot of things, not just building bookstores, supermarkets, and convenience stores. Some are experiments, some are opportunistic, and some are strategic expansions. But it's too early to know which is which, other than Whole Foods. That one is going to stick.
