Remember, you are not letting it go all the way to zero-point-zero. It will shut down and show the "charge me now" screen long before it goes dead. Otherwise how would you explain the screen changing to the charge screen if the battery itself already went into emergency shutdown? Want it to go to zero, you will need to leave it sit on the charge screen for a good while (count in weeks or months).
