I thought that too when I saw the specs on paper but the other night I checked out the new Nook at BN and it actually felt good in the hands. It's thinness and soft texture made it more comfortable to hold than my Oasis with its cold metal surface and asymmetrical design.
Of course holding it for a hour while reading may be a different story but I've noticed that I tend to feel the weight less with larger form factor devices.
