We can have standards for broadcast formats, WiFi, Bluetooth, cell phones, etc. etc, ad. nauseum but we can't have standards for IR remotes? I just replaced a broken remote for my cable box. The setup destructions had dozens of TV manufacturers and hundreds of model codes. WTF's up with that? Why not just define a standard that everyone uses and Bob's your uncle.
