Original Dot? Yup. And if you check, I'll bet they just downloaded new firmware to it. Bottom line? You're f'd. Best you can do is call CS, complain, and convince them to give you a discount on a newer dot. Which is a good deal, since the newer ones are definitely a step up.
(Before they'll actually offer you anything, expect to have to do a hard factory reset at least once, and probably 2 or 3 times. And all sorts of other hooey before they admit that yes, it's dead.)
