or do i really have to use a VM running OS X 10.9 as the calibre-build readme.md says?? with an OLD version of Xcode too?

I could create a VirtualBox VM with OS X 10.11 as i have a 10.11 installer
if that could work? but old Xcode installers are hard to get.
