I was going to necro an old thread but decided starting something new might be easier and a better option.

My question is this; if I extend the partition size of my Kobo OR insert a new, bigger memory card (if I've done the copying procedure properly) will I still be able to upgrade firmware, etc. with the Kobo desktop app like I do normally now? Or will the change in memory size somehow affect that, make it stop working or something?

If someone can let me know I'd be grateful since I want to make sure that will still work before I crack open my ereader.
