You know that you can browse books and download them from Feedbook. You can have a Kindle and never buy a book from Amazon and still use the network.
If you sell a device nowadays you know that people will experiment with it. So the cost for this is already taken into account.
I would say that your arguments here might hurt amazon since people that would otherwise have bought a Kindle will be kindle of disgusted with your reasoning.
