Oh -- the discount that does apply is a B&N membership; I renewed my long-expired one for $25 which knocked $20 off the price of this Nook.
That said, if you don't already have the membership, it's not worth it unless you buy a goodly number of paper books from them, as the membership discount doesn't apply to Nook books.
