I had a hard enough time adjusting to troubled/troublesome folks "having issues" (I am afraid I will always associate "issue" with "magazine" or consider it a synonym for "topic"), but when I started getting memos signed off with "Do let us know if you have any challenges with this," I startled my co-workers with shrieks of despair.

If you call it a "challenge" it is no longer a "problem." If you call it an "issue" it is no longer a "problem." See? All your problems are solved! (you only had to re-name them.)
Funny story from a place I used to work. The gals were talking about someone, and one of them said, "She's got issues..." Another co-worker didn't hear this correctly, and asked what "Scottish shoes" had to do with anything.
