I uploaded two books by the same author yesterday, one of which was already there but I had fixed some typos, and now neither of them show up. The files and .sdr directories are there, but they aren't in the book list.
I reported the same problem a while back (
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=315600) which eventually fixed itself, no idea how or why. I went through the same sort of process to fix it this time, but with no luck. I've tried just about every possible combination of connecting, disconnecting, restarting, adding manually, removing manually, renaming the file, putting them in /documents, putting them in a subdirectory, updating the cached Calibre metadata on the device, removing the books from Calibre and then adding them again, but nothing seems to help. About the only thing I haven't done yet is sacrificing a chicken.
I chopped the last letter off the author's name and then the books showed up. I deleted them, reinstated the last letter and... they didn't show up. I chopped the last letter off again... and this time they didn't show up. Now nothing I do seems to help.
I assume that the Kindle's internal DB is somehow screwed up. Is there any way to make it rebuild the DB short of flattening it and reloading 4000+ books? Or does anyone have any other ideas what I could do?
