LOOK (only) in various Authors (books) Title folder. There are files cover and metadata. Look at the date_modified (in windows explorer, if you hover, the balloon help will show details)
If these dats appear to be BEFORE the disaster, ther is a very good chance the metadata backup survived.
On the Library icon: Library maintenance: Restore database (calibre reads each one of these files and rebuilds the spreadsheet )
