Once you add ParentalControls=true to the [FeatureSettings] section of .kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf, you will find a new Parental Controls section in Settings->Accounts. You will be able to set a PIN, which is stored in the MBR of the SD card (so you can't remove it over USB, although I can make a patch to disable it if you forget your PIN). When parental controls is enabled, a new icon for it will appear in the status bar to the left of the light. Parental controls removes Kobo Store from search, disables all web browser related things (including opening links from books), hides pocket, disables stats, cleans up the home screen, and hides all Kobo services (recommendations, store, wishlist, buy, etc, related books). Existing books will remain. Enabling parental controls is almost entirely cosmetic (things are hidden, not removed) and will return to normal after being disabled (you won't lose stuff).
