DRM is also proprietary. I have 2 Adobe DRM-IDs; the DRM-IDs are not interchangeable. Not only that the DRM-ID is tied to an app which Adobe considers as a "device" & not a physical device like a B&N Nook that has a setting for the DRM-ID.

Anyway, I finally bought my 1st kindle ereader a couple of weeks ago. Saying that, the majority of my books are from the Amazon even if I never used a kindle or Amazon app for reading as my Fire HDX is loaded with the play store & CC & Moon+Reader. In fact, my reading is on an android tablet until now.
