My understanding is that the OP was checking them out, searching them, then returning them if they didn't match. I can see that this would look like fraud to some extent, but it still seems like there should have been a warning first, especially if the account has previously been operated in good faith.

I guess the issue with amazon is that it relies on minimal human involvement, and its easy to get caught up by the mysterious algorithm in some kafkaesque way.
