I am not a native English speaker but I try to read English books to improve. As a result I often encounter words I don’t know. Right now in Calibre I have to highlight the word, select dictionary button, wait few seconds for the web browser to load the page. If I want to check few word from each page in a book it makes reading a horrible experience. What is more the dictionary takes the raw word I want to look up. Calibre doesn’t stem the word, doesn’t convert to present tense form etc.

Do you know any ebook reader that has a good dictionary ? Ideally I would like to only e.g. right click a word and it would show me the definition of this word.
It would help if you told us your native language and what OS you are using.

But here are a few suggestions, assuming you are using windows.

I use a program Wordweb. https://wordweb.info/
It is available in a free and a paid version. It is a very excellent English to English dictionary.
It can read the word under the cursor if you do a Ctrl Right click. (Can be changed)

When the program opens you have some options: The marked word can be sent to the dictionary, Wikipidia and a few other services.

In the paid version you can define the services that can receive the marked word.

I have here, among other services, specified an English to Danish online dictionary.

I use a paid service ordbogen.com, a Danish subscription service.

If you go to the site and look up the word horse then the URL will look like this:
https://www.ordbogen.com/en/search#/...gen-enda/horse

Now specify: https://www.ordbogen.com/en/search#/...gen-enda/%word

in Wordweb Pro and you have quick English->Danish translation.
