When exporting from the PDF Reader using the default "All Notes" setting Mimas creates a file with the word 'Teil' attached to the name. I presume that's to distinguish it from the original PDF name. Eg: a file named, "Meeting.PDF" becomes, "Meeting-Teil.PDF" after export.
The Boox Max 2 also renames PDFs when exporting them after editing. So I don't think that the word "Teil" has much significance as far as corrupting the file because even when renamed, the Teil file is still corrupt. No app I've tested can open them - not even the stock PDF reader.
The Mimas PDF Reader can export successfully using the "Whole Book" setting but it does not rename the PDF then. It just exports the edited PDF using the original name to a sub folder.
Perhaps the Mimas PDF Reader is using two different formats to export edited PDFs depending on the setting? When it renames the file using the "All Notes" setting that's when the file becomes corrupted. The renaming process might be at the root of the problem.

Other issues:

1) The Mimas stock browser crashes all the time. Google Chrome, on the other hand, is very stable.

2) The Mimas screen is slightly grayer than on my Mars and Max 2. The protective film included with the Mimas might be the culprit. I'm looking for alternatives. Or it might be due to the larger screen and lower resolution but then the Max 2 doesn't suffer from this problem. The front light helps brighten the screen so it's not a deal breaker.

The Mimas is very good in many respects but the stock apps need to be overhauled urgently. I've not tried the Boox Note Pro but based on using the Max 2 and the Mimas I should've saved up the extra cash and bought the Note Pro instead of the Mimas. A case of buy cheap(ish), buy twice perhaps?
