In the following screen shot you will see Word is using a lot of CPU and its Power usage is Very High - but it's waiting for me to correct a mismatched quote (") pair - which seems odd to me - it should not take that much grunt to wait for user interaction

Which is borne out by the S&R tool, I do not see anything like those values in task manager when this dialogue pops up

Dialogue Check & Search and Replace appear to be very similar processes.

My gut feeling is that the 'inexplicable' high resource usage by DC has been ever thus. And one or more changes in recent updates to Windows and/or Word have exacerbated it - i.e. driven it over a cliff.
