language settings on cloud reader

Hello everyone and thank you in advance. I've just reached this forum after venturing myself into the true black hole which is Amazon 'help'.

Anyway, I am living in Brazil, and I've been plagued by some unbelievable issue whenever I want to read a kindle edition on their Cloud. I am using a Samsung Chromebook, all set to English as its default language, but his holiness the Kindle Cloud Reader will always turn to Brazilian Portuguese, it doesn't matter what I do. There is absolutely no way to change the language settings on the reader itself, and when I was once able to change it to English on the login page, it quickly turned back to Portuguese again. It will simply never be tamed. This may look like a minor problem, and in fact it won't interfere with my reading on the Cloud, but my dear Goddess, I cannot fathom the reasons why anyone would design such a rebel and stubborn artificial unintelligence.

Would anyone know of a sure and definite way to make my Cloud Reader obey me, once and for all? Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
