Phew! Just finished 'Star Maker' by Olaf Stapledon.
I did not find it an easy read; I had to read the last few chapters aloud to make it to the end (my mind kept drifting off otherwise).
Some interesting notions; but very repetitive and overly-long, with a rather pessimistic tone throughout. Also, it is definitely a product of it's time -1937 and the looming shadow of WWII - so it lacks connection with the modern reader.
I can't allot it a place in my list of SF classics; but I'm glad I read it, if only to satisfy my long-held curiosity.
On to the MRBC book of the month; 'The Surgeon of Crowthorne' for some light relief (hopefully).
