Saving Bookmarks in Calibre

Hello,

I just found this particular thread on doing Google search “saving bookmarks in calibre” And thought this thread maybe pertinent to my query.

Please bear with me as I will describe as succinctly as possible below:

Very recently started using the Calibre and have built up a modest collection of E-books with multiple bookmarks w/notations in them – these are growing on a daily basis as I read and research.

But I’m very anxious as to how to save all these on daily back up basis? Very similar to making a back-up images of a computer hard drive

Initially, I read this guide: http://blog.calibre-ebook.com/2017/0...port-your.html

But this guide was not entirely clear as to my concern – anyhow I followed the guide and exported the most current Calibre data. Then tested new calibre installation in virtual drive environment and imported the data, but my bookmarks were not the most current or latest ones when I did the export. This completely stumped me and again heightened my concern as to potential data loss of my multiple bookmarks + notes.

How does a Calibre user regularly back this all up?

Or does Calibre save all the books read with bookmarks + notations every time the Calibre is used? So it always as the most recent/current user library data?

So if I move my Calibre library from one computer to another will it preserve the complete and most current data of my complete library?

Have I understood that correctly?

I very much welcome guidance & advice on the above please as it has been quite challenging to get to grips with this aspect of library management and administration where I almost had a catastrophic loss of my complete library.

Regards,
Zakary
