Perhaps "novelty" wasn't the most apt term to describe my experience with ebooks. Like others, the number of ebooks I've read since owning an ereader(s) increased dramatically to what I've read before. What got me back into purchasing books was mainly due to reading academic books which have extensive end notes, footnotes and references. Having a phyiscal book to be able to flip back and forth was a lot easier than using the links in the ebooks. Plus, I could purchase a used physical academic book a lot cheaper than the kindle version. Now, the novelty for me is reading the real physical book after all of these years.
