I've finished
The Hunt for the Red Cardinal. Sadly, it's the worst Ring of Fire piece I've read since some of Virginia DeMarce's stuff, but for different reasons. Her work is confusing, but this is just boring. It's quite impressive to make D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers boring, but this book's done it.
What a pity.
