As @NiLuJe said, there is a bug which will be fixed in the next calibre release. The overall "Update metadata on the device" option isn't saved properly and is always on. But, turning off the "Update metadata on Book Details page" can be turned off. That was actually the option I was thinking of as you can then have the series info update happen.

but If need a calibre update, we must retransfer all the books in the kobo?
Sorry, I messed up the link. I have fixed it now. And no, there will be no need to retransfer the books. The bug is when the driver updates the database. Just connect again after the update to calibre happens, and it will update the metadata.
