I put on 5 pounds this winter ... which show no inclination to leave anytime soon ....
To counteract the 'dampening' effects of numerous rainy days on my walking outdoors, I have added indoor stair climbing to my daily exercise routine. My office building has an inside staircase with 18 steps - it's become my senior version of running bleachers -- I go up & down it in sets of 2-3 repetitions twice each morning and three times in the afternoons. I'm building up to sets of 4 reps.
Haven't seen any weight loss yet, as I am probably adding muscle tissue doing this, but it's great for cardio and resting my eyes ...
