This is not so. The word "piracy" has been used to refer to the unauthorised reproduction of copyrighted books for
at least 400 years. Eg. Thomas Dekker laments the actions of "word-pirates" in the introduction to his book, "The Wonderfulle Yeare", published in 1603. It predates by centuries any such usage in the film and music industries.
