IF you hit Remove form Carousel that's what it does IT Does Not Remove From Device unless you tap on that in the Drop down menu.
To see ALL Downloaded ebooks & Those Not down loaded that you purchased from Amazon. Go to Books at the top > Above the carousel. Side loaded ebooks you remove will need to be Re- Side loaded thru your PC
