I wouldn't ask for a refund, I'd rather keep what I bought (that's the reason I bought it in the first place!) But if they shoved a refund down my throat against my wishes, I'd accept their "gift" and go on with my life as if nothing had happened. If they want to put money back on my credit card, there's not much I can do about it. And there's no requirement I am aware of that says I should try to do anything about it. If there was some kind of bizarre requirement that says I need to take action to do something about their unrequested and unwanted refund, I'd simply ignore that requirement too.
Breaking the law is of course a personal choice, but there are people who prefer to be honest.
