That's going to give you quite the immersive experience! Our family room shape/size/walkways does not lend itself to us getting much closer to our screen (stairs leading down to the room in the middle, low overhead ceiling in one part, high vaulted ceiling in another).

For example, a 1 pixel wide black line on a white background will be black if it is registered with a line of pixels, but it will be mid-gray and double width if its midpoint is between two lines of pixels.

That makes sense. I don't know, but imagine, that this second case would not necessarily be perceived as a wider line, depending on viewing distance. But it would be perceived as a lower contrast line. Which would be interpreted as "less sharp". So now I'll defer and state that I agree with you technically. But I'm not sure that practically there would be much, if any advantage to the higher resolution. I doubt there are many instances of single pixel width lines being displayed on an eReader, and I doubt there are many people who view from a close enough distance and on a large enough eInk screen to really notice a single pixel line. Possibly though, I'm just speculating. Many people do indeed use significantly smaller font sizes than I do.
But you have convinced me - technically, I agree with your point. You would be a good debater.
