I'm betting your software is patched to use full screen mode. If so, there's this thread: Kobo Touch - right hand margin cut off

That is resolved by this post: Work-arounds for kepub problems in full-screen mode

It comes from the book's stylesheet:

If the kepub book's stylesheet has non-zero margin or padding on the body element, then the text is shifted to the right, possibly resulting in text being cut off at the right hand side.
If you update to the latest firmware, Kobo Firmware 4.12.12111, full screen is officially supported and that's likely the easiest way to fix the issue.
