Sigil no longer automatically adds what's in the system clipboard to the beginning of the Sigil clipboard ring-history whenever Sigil launches. But it doesn't attempt to modify the system clipboard in any way when it closes/launches.
I did a quick test to make sure what I had in the system clipboard with sigil open was still available (Ctrl-V) after closing and relaunching Sigil. I didn't run into any issues. Not doubting your report, just verifying that I can't reproduce it. Nothing in Sigil's code should be clearing your system's clipboard.
Do you have any clipboard handling-related software installed?
