I use a single library, but I:

have preferences set to add a tag, "New Addition", to all new imported books.
have a saved "virtual libray" that is based on a search for the New Addition Tag

I can then just select that Virtual Library to have only those new books that still need tweaking. When they've be "fixed" I simply remove the New Addition entry in their Tags metadata field.
