I tried rebooting both and do not have any SD cards in - still does not show Send to Device. Storage shows 6.77 GB free of 10.52 GB.

I don't know if that helps or not. I certainly am technology challenged but used a prior Kindle until it died a few weeks ago and had no problem downloading from Calibre. We are going on vacation and I need books!
