Like you I'm perfectly happy with my original Aura. I bought a Glowlight Plus because I wanted a waterproof reader for the tub (where I like to read fairly often).
The Glowlight Plus' software isn't as feature rich as my Kobo (which is why I still do the bulk of my reading on it). But the 300ppi Carta screen on the Plus does make my Aura's 212ppi Pearl screen look not so good. And the orange light on the Glowlight 3 makes the Aura (and the Plus) seem harsh by comparison when reading in a darkened room.
Admittedly, these are all little things. Reader tech is so undemanding, I could quite honestly still happily read on my old Simple Touch w/Glowlight.
But a reader with Kobo's software, a 300PPI Carta screen, waterproof with 8GB (or better) of storage would check enough boxes to be worth an upgrade to me. And I'd suspect Kobo's next 6" reader will have them. Their larger ones already do, so I don't see why they wouldn't.

i fully understand why you and others would want to buy a new Kobo 6" ereader or any size for that matter and i also suspect that my own subjective opinion for not wanting to do so is probably in the minority view. that being said i won't buy any new device not just an ereader if i don't feel it's a good enough upgrade from what i already have.
i hope Kobo bring out a new 6" ereader to your liking if not the Clara HD v2 with waterproofing then perhaps a new one altogether.
best wishes koboy
