...I just can't do it. I sat here and seriously thought about it. But I just can't.

I've become convinced over the years that the ISS is a big waste of time, mostly rehashing old Skylab and STS experiments, but not doing anything practical while up there, and sorely underfunded to boot. They should be doing serious R&D, working on compounds and manufacturing processes we can't duplicate as easily (or at all) on the ground, readying us for the next stage of the industrial revolution. as it is, it's a showpiece, and not much of one at that.

If I were to suggest a name, it would probably be "boondoggle"... or, in following NASA's theme, maybe "Idiocy."
