Onyx Boox C67ML - can't connect to computer

Onyx Boox C67ML - can't connect to computer; the reader simply doesn't show up.

I already downloaded the app https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

Tried 2 different Macs with the app above. Also tried on Windows computer. Same issue. The device doesn't even show up.

I already tried enable USB debugging on the device to see if that helps. Doesn't help.

The reader works fine, no issues. Version 1.7.3 firmware.

Checked online, there seems to be now version 1.8.2. Tried to install the FW through OTA, but it says no updates. Went online to Onyx support site and downloaded the 1.8.2 Firmware but it can't be installed ("version verify failed" dreaded message). I already submitted support request about that to Onyx.

But still trying to figure out how to connect to computer.
