I often type gobbledygook deliberately in the search line to get a blank list, even on my 130K+ book library it comes back almost instantly with nothing in the list. I don't have any limits on search.

Lol, my library's much smaller (~5500 books, 40 custom columns) and search is pretty instantaneous here, too.
