Gtrs mine goes to a wonderful animal rescue charity by the name of Flying Fur Animal Rescue. The gentleman who runs it has a small plane (and a recently added bus) that he flys (or drives if the weather won't work for flying) to North Caroline to pick up dogs and cats from over full kill shelters there to fly to Pennsylvania and parts of New England where the shelters need them due to better spay and neuter programs leading to too few animals to adopt. To date he has flown or used the recently added bus to rescue over 1200 animals. It is a fully licensed charity and recently Path 88 Productions has done a documentary on it that is now making the rounds of US film festivals!

Sometimes I'd like to know to whom a MobileReader's "smile" money goes to (  ), even though on some items the amount is miniscule or, like this one, non-existent (since the ebook is free). I wonder if Amazon has a list of verboten "charities"? I can't of any, offhand, that would deserve being on such a list, but surely there are some. |
