I don't have a Forma. So I can only compare to a Kindle PW4.

They're both a bit slow. All eInk devices I had so far were like that. (You get used to it, so it's fine.)

Part of that is due to the display technology, which just doesn't do instant screen refreshes...

Part of it is the firmware. So you can try your luck with alternative reading software like KOReader too. There might be a minor improvement with that, I don't know.

If you need it even snappier then you have to look to devices with LCD/LED screen. I have an ancient Smartphone (samsung galaxy i9000 with AMOLED), it's unusable nowadays since only 512MB RAM, but you can read books with it and it even looks great (nightmode, black background, gray text since pure white is too bright). And it's definitely snappy, instant pageflips.

I hope my H2O will last for a long time, it's my favorite reader and depending on availability in Germany (or lack thereof), I might not get another Kobo in the future...
