High temperature today was 43° (F) which is colder than average, but not nearly as "colder than average" as the past few days. It has been so cold that the eight inches of snow we got Sunday night into Monday morning has collapsed into two or three inches of solid ice. The roads have been clear from the start, since the sun is strong enough to heat the pavement, but when the high temperature for the day is below freezing the snow on the ground doesn't melt.
