You can lock the Forma so it only rotates to either portrait mode or landscape mode. Go to 'Settings', 'Reading Settings' (pg 2) and choose your preferred orientation from the drop down menu under 'Reading orientation'.
It sounds like what you want is to lock the reader into landscape mode.
