Everyone’s experiences vary. I spent several hours a day in front of a computer monitor at work for years with no problems. But the final few years, I developed fairly significant eye strain. My eyes would stop focusing and it was apparently some kind of eye muscle strain. It was my fault - I never took screen breaks until my eyes acted up.

Now that I’m retired and can take breaks, my eyes are ok reading on my ipad. However, if I’m reading fiction, I just prefer e-ink. I find it easier more restful for my eyes, so a more pleasant reading experience. And because the kindle is small, I can lose myself in the book and completly forget the device.
