Now I'm really baffled! I tried copying the AZW3 to the author subdirectory inside the documents directory; then I decided I would also copy it from Calibre, then take a copy of the file Calibre uploaded and see if I could figure out what the difference was between the raw AZW3 and the version after the metadata plugboard had had its wicked way with it.
Guess what: both books showed up. I suppose I should be pleased.
